🎃 Honda 1.5 Turbo Engine Life Expectancy
My wife has an '18 Equinox with the 1.5L and 6 speed. It is worlds better than the previous gen 2.4L. A hint of off-the-line turbo lag, but torque comes on really strong after that. Lots of low and mid-range torque making it easy to squirt around in traffic. It tends to wheeze out at higher revs, but that's the trade-off you get with a small
The contenders are the CR-V, HR-V, the Toyota RAV4, and the Mazda MX-3/5. The CR-V is our primary target but may soon drop out of the running. I am not too happy that Honda sells the CR-V with only a 1.5L engine as it appears to be just too small. I would much prefer the reliable 2.0L from the HR-V and Civic.
The Honda Civic can last 250,000 – 300,000 miles or 17 – 20 years with good maintenance and is therefore expected to last longer than a Mini Cooper. RepairPal gave the Honda Civic an excellent reliability rating of 4.5/5 compared to the Mini Cooper’s average rating of 3/5 .
With well-tested engines and few known problems, a Bronco Sport should last 200,000 miles with proper maintenance. Key Points. The Bronco Sport outranks several of its competitors with a high-reliability rating from J.D. Power, at 82/100. Both engine options are largely problem-free except for an exhaust manifold issue on the inline-four.
The most popular L series among our members is the L15B7 but all of the turbo L series engines make for fantastic project cars, L15BF, L15B7, L15B9, L15BE, L15BE and the L15BG. All engines respond well to tuning, but you'll get a lot more power for your money from the turbo units. An engine swap between L series is an easier way to add forced
By Matt Wolfe and editorial intern Published: Oct 9, 2018. Honda appears to be having problems with its bread and butter crossover. Some owners of 2017 and 2018 CR-V s equipped with the new 1.5
2.0T< 3.5 V6. 1.5T < 2.4 I4. Both engines are inferior to what they replace. Only under light load will they deliver the better fuel economy that’s supposed to justify these changes. Power delivery will be worse. Without balance shafts, the 1.5T will have more vibrations than the 2.4L.
This has the effect of cleaning off any build-up of carbon, oil, or other contaminants that build up during normal operation. In a direct-injected engine, the backsides of the intake valves stay
Feb 16, 2018. #7. Larry Borland (Sic) of Mack Boring told us in his course that the current (7 years ago) Yanmar diesels have a serviceable life of 20,000 hours. He went on to say that the reason it is that "short" is that Yanmar has to include emissions as part of the life cycle. Otherwise it would be much longer.
Apr 3, 2018. #1. 1st oil change on 2017 Honda CR-V 1.5l turbo. Note the level of fuel in oil. I has 20% of oil life before I changed the oil. I did very few short trips I.e less than 10km about 20 times in 11,000 Kim’s. I would say that Honda should limit the first use of oil to 5000kms otherwise the viscosity goes below acceptable levels.
An enhanced version of the 1.5-liter 16-valve DOHC direct-injected turbocharged powerplant that powers EX-T, EX-L and Touring Civics, the new Si engine pushes performance on multiple fronts. It's rated at 205 hp at 5700 rpm and offers an impressive 192 lb-ft. of torque between 2100 and 5000 rpm.
And maybe will be less risky than a turbo. The vibe I got from reading and talking to others is that less complicated = more reliable, in general. But there are exceptions. And some manufacturers are better than others. Of course, how you drive it/maintain it has an impact too. 1. r/CX5.
2018 Honda Accord 2.0T Automatic Tested! The heart of the Accord line is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four backed by a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). This is the
Final words. Now you know everything about the 2.5 Duratec engine and its durability. This engine is very reliable and it can go approximately 250 000 miles. This is a maximum mileage before some big problems show up. Of course, the mileage will depend on some personal factors.
For most people the turbos probably don't affect as most people don't keep there cars long enough to have it die but i do. My buddy says that little 1.5L gas engines with a turbo will never last 300k-400k as it's a small motor with added stress from the turbo and naturally aspirated engine is the way to go for longevity and no repair bills.
